From October 2018, the Nam Xeuang bridge, which is 20 km north of Luang Prabang is not passable. Therefore, the overland trip Luang Prabang – Nong Khiaw will be rerouted. The overland trip to Nong Khiaw will be replaced by boat from Luang Prabang to Pak Ou Cave for a visiting, then continue by car from Ban Xang Hai Village to Nong Khiaw via Road No.13
