The newly-built Attapeu domestic airport will officially open for public service on 30th May as a result of air transport expansion and tourism promotion in Attapeu Province.
The construction of the Attapeu airport began since May, 2013 and this is a Government project to contribute and promote the long-term socio-economic development plan of the government for 2010-2020, according to the policy of shifting from a land-locked country to a land linked country as well as to graduate the country from least developed status by 2020.
The second phase of Attapeu airport construction will upgrade the airport to an international one.
The airport will support planes having 70-100 seats particularly the ATR 72, Fokker 70, MA-60 and Fokker 100.
