The Laos New Year Celebrations 2015 will take place from 10th to 20th April throughout Laos, which contains lots of special activities. This occasion is pretty awaited in Luang Prabang city, as the annual Festival to attract tourists.
According to the official announcement from Luang Prabang Information, Culture and Tourism Department, the Program 2015 is highlighted by the procession of Nang Sang Khan (Miss Laos New Year); Sai Bat (Great Morning Alms Giving) and Buddha Watering Ceremony. Read more
Supplier's Update
Nava Mekong boat (Luang Prabang) will settle yearly maintenance from Monday 15th to Friday 26th of June 2015 (inclusive). All the bookings drop into this period will not be operated.
Laos Plaza (Vientiane) starts new refurbishment project for regular floor (4th floor only) from March 15, 2015. The project is expected to complete by the end of August, 2015.
New Destination: Xaysomboun Province
Xaysomboun province is set to officially open to tourists at the end of this year allowing visitors the chance to explore some unknown and untouched sites in this formerly secret area that was for a long time closed to all outsiders.
Both historical and natural namely, Chao Anouvong cave at the base of Mount Phu Bia, the highest mountain in Laos and the former battle field will be able to visit after the official opening. Read more

Laos Central Airlines
resumes service
According to a report from Phongsavanh Airlines, the first private Airlines in Laos - named as Laos Central Airlines, will resume services after 02 years suspension. The route to launch will be Luang Prabang - Bangkok with a base in Vientiane and for long term, it will be Danang - Vietnam and Siem Riep - Cambodia. The Airlines plans to reopen by later this year.  
Visa waives for official travel
between Laos and Japan
From April 1, Lao and Japanese holders of official passports will no longer need an entry visa to visit each other country.
According to a notice from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japanese citizens who hold an official passport can remain in Laos without a visa while undertaking a diplomatic or consular mission or working for a development project.
