Vientiane's entrance fees to increase

Vientiane's entrance fee will be increased, as official announcement from Government, starting from February 2017.
- Wat Sisaket: 10,000 LAK per ticket
- Wat Prakeo: 10,000 LAK per ticket
- Wat That Luang: 10,000 LAK per ticket
- Patuxay Monument: 10,000 LAK per ticket
- Buddha Park: 10,000 LAK per ticket

Lao Orchid Hotel Vientiane's update
 
Lao Orchid Hotel Vientiane changes their list of room category from 2017. Refer to their announcement, the hotel now no longer has Deluxe room. To replace the lowest room category is Superior, then Deluxe Suite for higher level.

Nava Mekong announcement

Nava Mekong Dinner Cruise will operate 3 times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays starting February to end of May 2017.
Lunch Cruise to Pak Ou caves operates daily as normal.
Nava Mekong will be also closed both Lunch Cruise and Dinner Cruise for whole month of June starting 1st – 30th June 2017 for yearly maintenance.

Upcoming Event: Elephant Festival Sayabouly

The Elephant Festival 2017, in Sayabouly province, will run from 13 to 19 February, with around 70 elephants joining activities during the festival.
The Elephant Festival has been held annually for almost 10 years, to remind visitors and residents that Laos once had a vast elephant population, and to raise awareness of these endangered animals and identify the need to protect elephants from abuse and neglect.
Activities will include elephant shows, parades, a beautiful elephant contest, shows depicting how elephants are trained, an elephant buffet, elephant bathing and an opportunity to ride elephants. Conservation groups frown on some of the activities identified in the programme.
New Azerai Hotel Luang Prabang
 
Azerai Luang Prabang, which opens on 20 January 2017, offers 53 rooms in three categories: Rooms, Courtyard Rooms and Azerai Rooms varying in size from 35 to 85 square meters.
