There are many beauty pageants in Laos, but Luang Prabang - the old capital - is widely known for its Nangsangkhan pageant.
The contest 2015 was held at the Deun That or Old stadium, Luang Prabang Province between11th - 12th nights of April. There was twenty - five beautiful attendances took part in and the contest had created an exciting atmosphere during Pi Mai Laos. On 15th and 16th April, Nang Sang Khan represented the tutelary spirit of the New Year and seen in clothing Luang Prabang luxurious styles. She performed in the main parades mounted on the huge animal statue (the holy animal saint of the year) and surrounded by her fellow contestants.

New Park in Luang Nam Tha

Sing district in Luang Namtha, northern Laos, recently approved the construction of a Park that will serve as new tourist attraction for both local and visitors by the end of this year. Sing is a small town and district in Luang Namtha province. It is about 60 km northwest of the town of Luang Namtha and 360 km northwest of Vientiane. It lies very close to the border with Yunnan, China, surrounded by mountains and rivers.
A notable Buddhist centre, it is also popular with trekkers in northern Laos.

Laos-Myanmar Friendship Bridge
ready to open
Construction of the Laos-Myanmar Friendship Bridge across the Mekong River is now complete and the bridge will officially open in May, 2015. The bridge will be a new symbol of cooperation, good relations and solidarity between the peoples of the two countries. It will link Laos' National Road No. 17E and Myanmar's National Road No. 4.

Discover ancient sculpture
in Wat Phou
An ancient sculpture which used to be a part of the gate to the shrine of Wat Phouin 7th Century was discovered by the Archeologists last month in the area of ancient “Brick pond” between Phonthong and Champasak district in Champasak Province. The sculpture will be kept and exhibited in the exhibition hall of Wat Phou.
